Habitat : Shady forests, especially in association with beech and ash-trees. It prefers nutrient-rich soil and can be found in middle and south Europe
Remarks : Corydalis cava is very similar to Corydalis solida. It is different in that the bracts (small leaves at the upper end of the flower stalk) are oval with a smooth, unlobed edge. Also found are white flowers along with the purple colored ones.
